About...
MISSION: To gather community together to watch documentary films on a variety of subject matters to open peoples eyes to see the world from a wider lens and create more compassionate views towards one another. Screenings will be free and open to all.
HOW THIS CAME TO BE: This was an idea inspired for an application for the #MakeItHappen micro grant project from the Schusterman Foundation in late 2013. It asked individuals to show how small change can lead to big impact by creating experiences to make meaningful differences in their communities. You can see the original submitted project idea here. Being a recipient of one of the micro grants launched this program in March, 2014. (To see a sample selection of the wonderful projects funded, go here)
CREATOR/FACILITATOR: Heather I. Melcer is an artist, freelance writer, Feng Shui consultant and holds an MFA in Film Production with a background in publishing and marketing within both corporate and creative worlds. She's had the opportunity to live and work in NYC, London, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago and considers herself to be a true student of life. This program blends her knack for marketing, fondness for film, and desire to be of service to others by bringing people together to create authentic experiences.
